The African Renaissance and Diaspora Network(ARDN) are pleased to invite you to the Third Virtual World Summit of Diaspora Women to be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time (GMT -5), on the occasion of the Sixty fifth session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.
The Third Diaspora Women’s Summit is co-organized by the Republic of Costa Rica, the African Renaissance and Diaspora Network (ARDN), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the United Nations Entity United for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women).
The Diaspora Women Summit Series aims to address the challenges facing women and girls around the world and celebrate their power, promise and potential. The theme of the summit is COVID-19 and Mental Health. In this context, the summit will include a roundtable on specific threats to women’s mental health, such as unemployment, gender-based violence, motherhood and racial and gender discrimination. It will also discuss best practices for improving women’s mental health in the face of the challenges of COVID-19, especially for women in the diaspora.
