The celebrations of the 60th Anniversary of #UNCTAD got off to a flying start with outstanding opening ceremony with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, Heads of State and Government, top tier economists, influential investors and policy makers from prominent global institutions.
The main objective of the gathering is to foster meaningful discussions on trade, development, and the crucial role they play in
addressing current global development challenges.
Under the leadership of Secretary General, Rebeca Grynspan , UNCTAD works to address the unique challenges faced by women in trade and development, advocating for policies that promote women’s economic empowerment and participation in global markets.
By focusing on gender-responsive trade policies and capacity-building programs, UNCTAD creates a more inclusive and sustainable trading system that benefits women entrepreneurs and workers.
The efforts towards unlocking the full potential of women are also exemplified by ARDN’s Campaign that uses the convening powers of sports and cultures to give a Red Card to All forms of Discrimination and violence towards women and girls, in partnership with several UN agencies , programs and funds
